I speculate as to another* periodicity – started above** – for which I have absolutely no historical evidence (I haven’t looked for it); but it is based on the same mathematical progression,** which seems to show its patterns in nature[’]s; or reversed; [sic]

The next deceleration would

be back from 4096 to 2048,

just as this was from 2048 to 1024,

and the last was from 1024 to 512.

At the same time, circles may follow

excluding each other (ie equal periods).

It is not obvious why a decelerating series (expanding spiral?) should be inner circle, and an accelerating series (contracting spiral?) should be outer; but given that peaceful times are times of little change, and that revolutions do seem to accelerate, that is how it seems to be.

Earlier* problems of the acceleration of the Circle in the context of the patterns of (and around) Revolutions may be resolved by comparison with the **Hindu’s deteriorating cycle of 4 yugas, or World ages,*** named after the 4 throws (from best to worst) in a dice game:

I think that I can see this* – because I refer to the only significant thing that has changed in my life over that period – as some sort of objective validation that an immense weight of misery has been (and is being) lifted from my shoulders and from my mind as a result of my having almost completely left the orbit of my parents.** Almost all of that misery was due to problems that were not primarily mine, but theirs:*** their marital problems, their financial difficulties, their property, their misery, their violence (his upon her), their prolonged inability – which to this day continues – to resolve their difficulties and untangle themselves from each other (or reconcile themselves to each other); and of problems that were primarily mine, not the least was their determination to bring about their designs for my life, to their advantage, and at my expense in almost all ways imaginable.

All that, of course, is behind me – and the sudden growth suggests that it really is behind me: but it is, of course, as a set of facts still attached to me; and this perhaps suggests why, although I have my mother down to stay – because she is my mother and my children’s grandmother – I do so with no real enjoyment, or commitment. She appears completely unchanged: even still complaining (although less than she used to) of lack of money.****

**Our neighbour, Dr [J], suggests (with great delight) a brain tumour stimulating the pituitary gland to produce growth hormone. Are (she asks) my hands also growing; is my lower jaw protruding? – I think not. <890730>

I knew that the size of my feet had grown over the last ten years or so – from 8-9 to 10 or even ([W] says) 11:* my feet used to be more curled up not just at the toes, but in the arch, than they are now. I had wondered if my height would also increase from its official 5’11½” [five feet eleven and a half inches] – and it has: [W] measured me a few days ago (and I checked the wall-mark) at just under 6’½” (six foot and half an inch). I suggested it because, lying back across our bed, I felt taller.

I imagine that relaxation and confidence must have contributed, but the change cannot merely be due to standing up straight: the Army make you do that when they measure you (perhaps I ought to check their records….). As I particularly wanted to crack the six foot line, and tried every legitimate trick of stretch and poise [sic] to do so, I suspect my belief that I was only 5’11½” of being correct. As to the later measurement, I checked the pencil and kept my head straight and back: checking with a second tape measure, and allowing for the slope of the pencil point, still gives 6‘¼” [six feet and a quarter inch]. Can this really be?

As a work of primary or secondary scholarship, of course, it is simply rubbish: almost wholly unreliable on account of its inaccuracy, its refusal to apply the analytical methods throughout, and its obvious partiality [sic].

It is dangerous, though, because many who are interested enough in religious and spiritual matters to read it, but have not been given any kind of Christian teaching or any training in methods of scholarship, may well accept it at face value; and the stated intention of the book is that we should abandon the Hellenic-Christian spiritual, ethical and analytical basis of our Western civilisation and adopt rigid Muslim codes of belief and practice, covering and restricting the whole of life and thought.

It is also full of misprints – generally several per page – of which the happiest is (from M[at]t[hew] 9:8): ‘When the mulitude saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, who had given such a power to Men.’ I like the idea of a crowd or congregation as a stubborn, sterile, hard-working mulitude.

The emphasis,* in the end, is very much on Jesus as a prophet of Islam, one of 124,000 who were all in agreement with each other, each for his own time and place, but only Muhammed completing the line of Prophets for all subsequent times and places.
