It
is possible that the resolution of a problem (despite earlier
attempts to encircle [sic]
this) can be resolved into two stages: outer circle analysis, and
inner circle synthesis;* ie:

Outer Circle is analysis of the Problem,
the
Inner Circle is synthesis of the Solution.

required, to know that there is a problem at all; but the major stage
of observation needs a rational basis.

analysis makes sense in the context of a disintegrative Outer Circle
