Sometimes
it seems that the same people, dreading ‘unfairness’, on the one hand maintain
that all of an individual's behaviour is due to circumstances outside his
control – e.g. upbringing; but that strangely enough his personality must owe
nothing to circumstances outside his control – e.g. inheritance -- because this
would be unfair.
