‘In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.’

‘There are many dwelling-places in my Father’s house; if it were not so I should have told you; for I am going there on purpose to prepare a place for you.’

otherwise I would have told you.

…. I am going now to prepare a place for you,

and after I have gone and prepared you a place,

I shall return to take you to myself,

so that you may be with me

where I am.

You know the way to the place where I am going.”’

Jesus said:
