Back* to Ancient Mesopotamia – at least after 1450bce, when dating is supposed to become accurate, some sort of smaller-scale (eg 64-year period) pattern should be visible, despite interference.
There are hints of the 64-year cycle from c1280bce onwards; but my record** is still patchy, and the pattern is not terribly convincing.
