{1920, 1984}[27th September 1990]

[Redbook7:339][19900927:1627]{1920, 1984}[27th September 1990]

.1627

The E[ncyclopaedia] B[ritannica] Propaedia * divides the Modern World into two of the seven sections for the History of Mankind – Sections VI and VII, naturally – at 1920. The significance of this date I guess is the end of the Paris Peace Conference (1919-1920), which in 1919 instigated (inter alia) the League of Nations.

The question why a 64C date was chosen by the E[ncyclopaedia] B[ritannica] is as unlikely to receive an answer as the question why George Orwell chose as [the] title for his most famous work, the next 64C date, 1984.

So there you are.
