The empirical cosmological data, some of which, indeed, are more estimated than ascertained, seem to suggest that, in the present-day universe, the positive energy corresponding to the total rest-mass of all the material existing in the universe may be exactly equal to the negative gravitational energy existing in the universe; thus the total energy would then be equal to zero. This interesting singularity, however, needs further support.”*
