What am I going to do about bridging cycles* – such as the Roman Empire, and possibly the United States of America? For some purposes they would need a separate scale of years, parallel to the conventional scale, where eg 512BCE = 1 & 512CE** = 1024.

Incidentally, is there a Year 0? I hope not.***

*[& see next journal entry]

**[CE = AD in ms]

***[See elsewhere, where Year 0 is used, I think, to denote a non-calendrical start point at the turning of Year 1bce to Year 1ce]
