Many
times, far too many for the chain of events to be coincidental, [W]
and I have exchanged moods. A feels depressed, B feels content. A
tells B about A’s depression. A feels content, B feels depressed.
It is quite perverse in this case to argue that the moods are caused
by any chemical changes associated with them, in any appropriate*
sense.
To
digress on causes: we can distinguish at least 4 different classes of
cause:
