middle name is Diana. [W] has a theory that Dianas and Dianes (her
older sister is a Diane) are often rather strange women of a
particular kind – more often than one would expect. Certainly the
worst marriage among my relations is between my 'Uncle' (= cousin)
[NG], a judge, and his wife Diana (or 'Di') [CG]: she is generally
acknowledged by male and female to be one of the most difficult women
imaginable.
The
goddess Diana (as in 'Great is Diana of the Ephesians')** is an
archetype of unattainability; and goddess of the Moon. The Moon
shows up only on T.XVIII 'The Moon', which is at U~ and adjacent to
Virgo, who with Libra (surrounding ***M~) is supposed to be Justice,
which is TVIII at M~ and the Virtue at U~. Is Diana the equivalent
of Astraea on the Sistine Chapel Ceiling, one of the Females on the
'Male' side?****
