Saying
that something is evil, or sinful (as for certain kinds of sexual* or
homosexual intercourse**, above***) does not forbid it. It simply
means that to commit that evil risks staining the Soul, with
potentially very serious consequences for the Individual. The
consequences may build up their effect slowly, bit by bit; and they
may be reversible, in certain circumstances. But to commit Evil in
the expectation of Forgiveness is cynical, and I suspect that
cynicism precludes the Transformation necessary to repentance and
forgiveness.
