Saying that something is evil, or sinful (as for certain kinds of sexual* or homosexual intercourse**, above***) does not forbid it. It simply means that to commit that evil risks staining the Soul, with potentially very serious consequences for the Individual. The consequences may build up their effect slowly, bit by bit; and they may be reversible, in certain circumstances. But to commit Evil in the expectation of Forgiveness is cynical, and I suspect that cynicism precludes the Transformation necessary to repentance and forgiveness.
