But* the Sphere’s the thing: wondering how I would start off explaining it, as I have agreed to do,** I suppose the answer to be from the centre outward. So the first concrete manifestation is of those free-floating Qualities expressing themselves as Angelic Spirits in flight, drifting purposefully from an invisibly*** bright Centre through a medium of clear Light (and appearing in fictional form, potentially, as the chief characters in my book).****   What Love is There!

In a dream or dream fragment this morning I remember that I soared up through the roof of some sort of square temple; descended peacefully again to the floor; and found myself, not exactly bowing but perhaps crouching under the tremendous, the overwhelming quality of *|the|* presence of G~, or +K, in a kind of bay** of the temple.

It occurred to me that in*** a place that is Other, like the [...]land, you will tend to find the 4 cardinals**** more than the 4 diagonals,# because the latter are here more, in this actual World; and here, you will tend to find the 4 diagonals more than the 4 cardinals, because the 4 cardinals are more There, of the Other.

Whether this is in fact correct, I cannot say; but I do know that as I awoke[,] the tremendous quality of the presence of G~ became simply the friendly and nearby presence of +K.

I suppose the decrease in resistance as absolute zero [temperature] approaches could be perceived as an analogy, or even an example, of the way the Universe exists by limitation.

{Sine Waves?}[25th October 1990]

[Redbook8:41][19901025:1200]{Sine Waves?}[25th October 1990]

19901025.1200

I need – if and when I return to simple maths – to look at the way sine waves interact with each other, to add to, change and cancel each other.*

We returned here** at 9pm last night (having reached Hillingdon, only to have to return to Clapham for The Handbag). I was, being tired, a little sad to find my first ‘commercial’ story returned as unsuitable. This was the one with the unconscious death-and-rebirth symbolism, and a search in inward spirals. So I shall obviously have to try much harder to be thoroughly commercial.

But* I am not sure that it is right to give ‘Politics’ to M~ and ‘Culture’ to G~ in dynamic chronological terms, even allowing for horizontal mixing.

It might be better to say that M~-G~ is the political-cultural axis, and emphasise the quality of change or of process at and around these points – eg Outward Action – Revolution, Left – Right, etc..

It is the label ‘cultural’ for G~ which is seriously misleading, as it does not allow for the characteristic revolutionary activity of the times. (What about ‘socio-cultural’?)

The integrated time-circle** still raises problems.

Religion at and around C seems reasonable so far; and Economics at and around A~ is arguable if crises still turn out to be C points. In other words, the characteristic manifestation of religion is a personal crisis; the characteristic manifestation of economics is neither its crisis (slump) not its immediately preceding overheat (boom), but the solid real growth and real prosperity period before the boom.***

Religion and Economics are in opposition to each other.

{Cycles of Democracy [continued]}[15th October 1990]

[Redbook8:37][19901015:2120g]{Cycles of Democracy [continued]}[15th October 1990]

.2120

[continued]

This* is tenuous and speculative, a tiny and uncertain sample, until we consider that the sample cannot go further back in time; that the nature of the C degree is (among other things) a choice between politically democratic and fascist values; and that our own times, the third 2048C point in history, show so far a similar pattern to the previous one: a relatively small number of democracies existing so far for no more than a century or two; the political and cultural triumph at this time of those democracies; and (despite the new feature of a possible late surge to democracy, perhaps reflecting a much longer cycle), distinct signs of a move in democratic countries towards authoritarian methods which ultimately would make democracy in practice (not necessarily in form) simply a sham.

I don’t know of any other democratic stirrings, apart from a Scandinavian # one of, if I recall correctly, about 1,000 years standing – from the 1024 year C [point]?

An interesting possible correlation in the 2048-year* {cycles} occurred to me immediately after I had recalled this dream** earlier this evening.

I believe it to be the case that village communities in contemporary primitive societies are run consensually rather than tyrannically – ie the headman tends to be chosen[,] ***|or at least accepted[,]|*** and acts as[,] a chairman rather than as a dictator. It may be a fair speculation that the emergence of city states, ie at around c2048bce, required (and evidences) [a] more monarchical organisation than any which might have worked for village communities.

What is not in doubt is that the relatively short-lived democratic/republican periods of the Greeks in Athens and of the Romans appeared in the G~ and R~ period (approximately) and **** disappeared again in the R~ to C period to 0ce.
