This* is either part of an I[nner] C[ircle] rotation,** or*** part of an O[uter] C[ircle] rotation through C. In any case, it is interesting, in fact remarkable, that the Qur’ān is laid out so as to be read in reverse order of composition, so that if it was written in I[nner] C[ircle] order it will be read in O[uter] C[ircle] order.**** If this is thought frivolous, it should be remembered that rotation has some significance in Islamic tradition and practice, from mass movement around the Ka’bah# to the dances#* of #** the Sufi mystics.
