There is some indication that both G~-type political events eg popular rebellions – and M~-type political events – eg military campaigns – are more likely to succeed in giving rise to significant change the nearer they occur to C, and less likely to succeed in giving rise to significant change the nearer they occur to A~. But this is still rather speculative, or at least pretty uncertain.**
