record this passage from Evelyn E. Smith’s short S.F. story, “BAXBR|DAXBR”, as
published in BestSF 4.
            The setting
is mundane, present-day London.
            “ ‘If
you'll excuse me for asking, what language is it in?’
            ‘... You'd
call it Martian.’
            ‘Oh,’
George said.  ‘And I suppose your
correspondent would be a Martian, too?’
            ‘Yes, and a
fool as well.’ ”
