{Star Cycles (I) – Colours}[19th November 1987]

But* I have in the past considered the Circle relationships to wavelengths, based on colours; e.g.:**

If*** the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram main sequence plotting colour and temperature (identically, as spectral type) against luminosity correctly identifies the normal life of a hydrogen-fusing star (OBAFGKM), it can be plotted on the circle very precisely[:]

I was, however*, delighted to see (on a barometer catalogue) that barometers generally seem to share the same layout**, with all or some (or none [sic]) of the words occurring in the same places (i.e. the underlying numbers are always in the same places):

{Computer Characterisation}[19th November 1987]

[Redbook4:153-154][19871119:2312c]{Computer Characterisation}[19th November 1987]

19871119:2312
[continued]

Years ago (this is a new point)*, when I was first interested in microcomputers** and their games, I hypothesised a method of programming for variations in game-character behaviour consistent with character based on the circles structure of eight-spoked 'wheels' (8 being a useful number in low-level programming). I lacked the knowledge or ability to to take this further, and did not consider it for many years (as far as I know) until very recently: when it occurred to me that the attributions of Vices, Virtues and Gifts to the Circles, if they are valid attributes, might form the human basis for exactly such a system.*** However, I do not think I have the interest to take this further into the computer world at this stage.

*[Ref. Last previous entry.]

**[Sinclair ZX81 acquired c.1981, Sinclair Spectrum acquired c.1982, Victor Sirius acquired 1982; but the interest was longer-standing, going back at least as far as the Commodore Pet in about 1977.]

{Superstring Theory and Circles Analysis}[19th November 1987]

[Redbook4:153][19871119:2312b]{Superstring Theory and Circles Analysis}[19th November 1987]

19871119:2312
[continued]

I do not want the previous entry* to be misunderstood. I do not think that Superstring Theory is Circles Analysis, so that (for example) the circle of Virtues might be a Dimension. I merely perceive interesting similarities.

{Methodology: Points Arising}[19th November 1987]

[Redbook4:153][19871119:2312]{Methodology: Points Arising}[19th November 1987]

19871119:2312

The points have been piling up, with general listlessness possibly a result. I think I originally left these entries*{,} prompted by the usual feeling of stretch or staleness suggesting over-indulgence or forcing; and to clear my mind. I have put off re-entry** out of a slight disinclination to submerge myself again when there are so many more superficially enjoyable things to do: like spending small sums of money, and making small improvements to [CH]. But I had no idea that I had stayed away a whole month. I do not think such an absence is a good idea: I fear that I have lost much, and know that I have lost much freshness of ideas even if I have gained, possibly, in freshness of mind.***

Points arising:****

*[i.e. the piled-up points, presumably, resulting in the next 3(+?) entries.]

**A significant development?! Ever since I wrote [2], this sort of writing has made my right shoulder sore afterwards [i.e it has been intensely driven].

***Sniff!

****[See next 3 entries, which are bullet-pointed as in the ms.]
